Costa di Bussia Barbera d'Alba DOC Vigna Campo del Gatto is a highly regarded single-vineyard Barbera from Langhe in Piedmont, specifically from the renowned Bussia area of Monforte d'Alba. The wine is produced by the historic Costa di Bussia (Tenuta Arnulfo) estate, whose roots date back to 1874. Campo del Gatto ("Cat's Field") is the estate's oldest vineyard. The vineyard is located on a south-facing slope with limestone- and clay-rich soils that provide structure, colour and concentration to the wine. The current vines were planted in 1969. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak. Across several vintages, the wine has received 93 points from James Suckling, an exceptionally high rating for a Barbera d'Alba.
