San Marzano tomatoes only grow in the Agro-Sarnese Nocerino area, near Naples. This bright red variety tastes fresh and intense without being sour. San Marzano tomato is a species protected by the EU certificate of origin (D.O.P). This protection applies to species that have characteristics which are strongly linked to the specific features of their production area and cannot therefore be produced in a similar way anywhere else.
