Basmati rice grown in the foothills of the Himalayas is known for its delightful aroma and light, airy long-grain texture. It has a slightly nutty flavour.
Basmati rice is more separate and fluffy than jasmine rice, making it especially suitable when you want light and aromatic rice as a side dish. It is therefore a perfect accompaniment to, for example, Indian dishes, soups, and curries.
Thanks to its delicious taste, basmati rice also fits perfectly into Finnish cuisine. It works well as a side dish for fish, chicken, and meat.
For extra fluffy rice, rinse the rice in a sieve for 1–2 minutes before cooking, until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.
Note: Soaking is not necessary for Risella basmati rice—you can cook it directly.
