The grapes for this fresh and berry-driven sparkling Lambrusco come from the Emilia-Romagna region in northern Italy. The grapes are harvested by hand at the end of September and pressed immediately after picking. Maceration takes place with the grape skins for at least 60 hours under controlled temperatures, giving the wine its beautiful colour and aromatic bouquet. Cantina Puianello was founded in 1938 by five visionaries in Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna. The winery still operates as a cooperative and uses only grapes grown by its members, which is quite rare in the region. The limestone- and clay-rich soils provide ideal growing conditions for Lambrusco. The cooperative's goal is to produce only top-quality wines, and vineyard management is highly selective. As a result, only around 3,000 bottles of wine are produced per hectare of vineyard. While quality is a key priority, Cantina Puianello is also committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable viticulture.
