Juustoportti’s Brandy-pähkinäjuusto is matured for an average of six months, and part of the maturation takes place in a brandy bath. During maturation, it develops into an elegant delicacy that charms fans of both rich and milder cheeses. Brandy and nut aroma create a smooth flavour combination that makes this cheese the star of the cheese platter time after time. Brandy-pähkinäjuusto is one of our world champion cheeses: in 2025, it won bronze at the World Cheese Awards in Bern. The cheese has previously been awarded a gold medal at the Käsiade competition in Tyrol, Austria, and its first major international recognitions came in 2018 in Bergen, where it won gold at the World Cheese Awards.
Juustoportti’s long-matured speciality cheeses are made by hand at the show cheese dairy located next to the Jalasjärvi service station. In the same courtyard, there is also a cheese cellar where these speciality cheeses, made from Finnish milk, are matured. The speciality cheeses are especially well suited for a cheese platter, and when the cheese craving is at its strongest, they can be enjoyed as they are, straight from the pack. In cooking and baking, speciality cheeses add flavour and richness. You can find your own favourite by boldly trying different varieties.
